Corinthian columns and decorative crown molding were used to create an extremely dramatic effect in this formal dining room within a large Semerjian estate home. Having crown molding return around openings, or projected on top of openings, enhances its profiling and shape and creates a three dimensional effect. It’s a small detail but one that has a high impact to any cased opening.
