Meticulous Craftsmanship
Vaulted ceiling
This spectacular groin vaulted ceiling was modeled after the nave of a 12th century Romanesque cathedral near Rouen, France. With elaborate Beaumaniere French limestone banding at the intersection of the four elliptical arches, this ceiling is situated 24 feet above the entrance foyer of a French Norman Semerjian home. This architectural Old World techniques structure was painstakingly designed and engineered to accommodate the solid limestone pieces, which collectively weigh over 2000 pounds.
Marble mantle
This one-of-a-kind honed mantle was custom made by Semerjian Builders for a French Provincial style ballroom to replicate an antique 18th century mantelpiece. Carved entirely by hand out of Statuary White marble, the focal point of this mantle is the elaborately carved center relief, which was designed to match the plaster crown molding on the ballroom’s ceiling.
Stone bathtub
This solid limestone bathtub was custom designed to replicate a European soaking tub. We commissioned the finest stone carvers in Italy to transform the piece from an 8-ton block of stone into this work of art, carved entirely by hand. This honed bathtub now graces a luxurious master bathroom suite and rests atop matching heated limestone flooring. The allure of this creation is further enhanced by a paneled elliptical arch from which the water is supplied and uniquely fills this bathtub.
Wrought-iron railing
This hand forged iron railing was created for a client’s grand entrance foyer. The client wanted an iron railing which replicated one she saw while travelling abroad in Europe. Semerjian Builders engaged the finest metal craftsmen from Monterrey, Mexico to fabricate and install this complex railing system. The design features intricate flowing scrollwork, a graduated pattern on the volute and solid brass rosettes, and leaf accents. A custom carved solid mahogany handrail completed this elegant work of art.
Medallion
This artistry in stone was fabricated by a specialized stone company in Cairo, Egypt, who meticulously cut the hundreds of small pieces of stone and assembled them together with virtually no space between them. This elaborate 6-foot diameter stone medallion features over 12 different exotic stones, each carefully selected in order to allow for contrasting colors, shadowing, and translucency.
