The accomplished architects of McAlpine Tankersley designed this spacious Villanova home with an open floor plan. The need for support created the opportunity to highlight traditional construction techniques with ceiling beams and columns in clear cypress wood. These beams not only serve as support, but also allow for a subtle division of space between the formal eating area and living room. The dining area can also be made private by drawing drapery to the support columns. The ceiling in made with tongue and groove Pecky cypress, while the cast concrete paver floor is treated to look like limestone.
